What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a teeth-straightening method made up of a series of clear aligners. They are made from smooth, BPA-free plastic so they won’t irritate your gums or cheeks. Unlike with the brackets and wires of braces, Invisalign aligners can be taken in and out for eating, brushing, and flossing. Being able to remove the aligners also comes in handy during special occasions.

About the Invisalign Treatment Process

The Invisalign treatment process begins with a consultation. You’ll sit down with one of our dentists to plan what you’d like to change about your teeth alignment and what your desired end results are. Once it’s determined that Invisalign is right for your teeth-straightening needs, we’ll take impressions of your teeth. We use this to create a digital image where we can map out how to you’re your teeth into their final positions.

Next, we’ll send off this information to a lab in order to get your aligners created. These are specifically made for you based on your personalized treatment plan. Once we give you your aligners, you’ll wear them every day, moving to the next set in the series every two weeks. As you make your way through each set of aligners, you’ll be able to see the improvement in their position.
