Dr. Frank Mitchell was born in Washington, DC and raised in the suburbs of Maryland. As a student at the University of Maryland he began his studies in architecture but considered moving into the sciences for more of a challenge. After testing the waters and being surrounded by pre-health students, he made the switch. He obtained a BS in Zoology from the University of Maryland in 1974 followed by his DDS degree in 1978.
Upon graduating, Dr. Mitchell practiced as a naval dentist at Parris Island, SC until 1980 when he started his own practice. Since the start of his practice, Dr. Mitchell has gained 37 years of industry experience with a focus on Endodontics (root canal therapy), implants, prosthetics, oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Mitchell most enjoys the challenge of dentistry and opportunities for continual learning and education.
Outside of his love for dentistry, Dr. Mitchell is passionate about family and art. He is a talented self-trained oil painter who has had number of art shows in Maryland in addition to having his paintings on display at the US Consulate in Florence, Italy for a number of years.
