Richard D Alston, DDS

Dr. Alston was born and raised in Greensboro, NC, and later attended college at NC State and dental school at UNC, graduating from both with honors. Following 5 years in the USAF, he completed an orthodontic residency at St. Louis University and returned to the Air Force to teach in a general practice residency. After that, Dr. Alston practiced in Rocky Mount for over 30 years, gaining extensive experience in traditional braces, Invisalign, and working with dentists and specialists on complex cases.

As an adolescent, Dr. Alston was a frequent dental patient. He quickly became friends with his family dentist and heeded his encouragement to consider a career in dentistry. This is where Dr. Alston’s interest in caring for others and passion for dentistry started. A fulfilling part of his career is seeing the creation of a beautiful smile and a happy, smiling patient!

After years of raising children and attending college, professional sporting events, and playing golf, Dr. Alston now prefers to spend time relaxing and reading at his beach house.
